Flat Top House Bishop Wilton.
This is a large oil, painting, 1.5 m x 1 m taken from a plein air painting made earlier. The painting has three levels of undercoat applied. This gave me a suitable base to start planning the drawing and to subsequently make this painting . The house is situated above the village of Bishop Wilton. Earlier , in the village, I had seen the newly developed, wonderful gallery run by the artist Mark Ibsen. This is a must for artists and those interested in art and sculpture so please try and visit if you can. Below are several details from the painting which I think indicate the loose nature of my application ( suggested viewing from 3 metres) . The house is elevated, sitting on high ground at the end of a valley known as Worsen Dale. It is a magical area, the local shop sells coffee and cake as well as supplying essential items and is run by local volunteers, again, please visit if you can.
