Gannets at Bempton, 150x100cm.

Well, I have decided to stop with this large canvas,
( 150x100cm). It has been exhausting and I dare say I could continue with it, adding fine detail etc. However this painting needs to be viewed from about 5 metres away and so fine detail misses the point of the ‘impression’ of the painting. Another interesting aspect is that the eve level is high. Perhaps it should be hung at eye level and you will then find that you may get a sense of height when following the painting down to sea level. Give it a try, enlarge this and travel down the painting. You may see some goldfinches feeding on the thistle seed heads and even a porpoise in the sea, but of course this is all about gannets.
