Hall Garth from Beverley Minster, 12x10 oil on canvas board.

I visited the south side of Beverley Minster and walked around the enclosed garden. It was primarily a cemetery and is now a garden where one can stroll and look out over the adjacent Hall Garth fields. It was interesting to see a newly allocated area designed for wild flowers and thus insects and birds developing. Usually at this time of the year, cattle are in the field, always a lovely sight seeing them free roaming and being nurtured by DG. I have often thought the view would make a good picture, especially at this time when the cow parsley and buttercups mingle with tall grasses, hidden pignut and many more wild flowers. I set up my pochade (art) box and found a shady spot under a tree for George. Hope you like the finished result which is 12x 10 inch, oil on canvas board. It will be treated with retouching varnish when fully dry and then become available to go to a new home.
