Hornsea Mere Boathouse. A3 print.
£20.00
I thought, as a child that this, Hornsea Mere, was the largest freshwater lake in the UK…but now I believe it is the largest in Yorkshire. The focus here is the old boathouse which dates back to the start of the twentieth century. It is wonderfully quirky with the curved roof. Rowing boats can still be hired from it, indeed many years ago I learnt to sail there and often think about taking it up again. The original is now in the hands of the family who own (?) the boathouse. This is a print which was requested by someone who loved visiting the Mere. I sometimes help and advise a local art group nearby and the Mere with the boathouse is a place I go to afterwards to walk George.
