Mid winter stack.
£175.00
I found myself at Etton where I stopped to look at the building work on the old public house, The Light Dragoon. The pub had been closed for a long time and when building work started I was anxious that the building might be converted to housing as so many old pubs are. However, I discovered it was going to remain a pub. Wonderful news. It will be another venue to stop at after a painting trip.. I saw this stack of bales on the road to Etton West Wood farm. The weather forecast was for rain but I thought I would chance it. However the rain did arrive necessitating a quick finish. I had got enough done to leave it as it was, perhaps it lacks a little rigger detailing but I am happy with it. It captures the moment. The mid winter colours are grey sky dull yet there is some colour. As I stood looking, observing the subtlety of the colours I experienced a moment of mindfulness, a meditation of being with nature, in a way both physically and emotionally isolated, a reset.
