William Dale in autumn, 3x2 FEET.

Painted on a lovely sunny day, the sight of the autumn colours flanking William Dale made me stop. I had a large canvas, 3x2 feet and decided to have a go at painting the scene. I wanted to include the road winding away towards Thixendale as well as the bright hillside. It was interesting to chat with a few passers by, in particular a local farmer. This is not far away from the famous Raisthorpe Estate and the evn more famous Robert Fuller Gallery.
