It was a very hot day at the end of July, bright sun and soaring temperatures. My usual walk to the Westwood in BEVERLEY would be too hot so I took George to a sheltered place a deep woodland full of shared which is called Burton bushes. It is an ancient woodland. Inside the wood, the dappled light lit up the floor as I explode along nettled paths until I saw this view, a favourite view, undecided to do a quick oil sketch. As I left the Westwood after giving George a long drink, I realised it must be a race as lots of cars were parked on the Westwood. It will be hot for the horses and it will be hot for people walking up from the town. Hope everyone is okay
