I took the train to Filey and walked down to the beach via a closed museum and a closed church...at least the beach was open. The tide was out and I set up my pochard box with the intention of painting the beach with sky reflections and as a study of light. To be different, I decided to use a palette knife. The colour is thus applied texturally and has a vigour to it which is different to using brushes. The man on the beach was using a metal detector and we had a chat as I finished.
Oil on deep edge canvas.
